Sacred Heart take out Inter Girls premiership
Sacred Heart College Geelong have taken out the 2023 Herald Sun Shield Intermediate Girls (year 10 and below) Division One premiership after defeating Carey Grammar by 26 points on Thursday, 9.5 (59) to 5.3 (33).
In good conditions at Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham, Sacred Heart stormed out of the blocks with four-goals-to-nil in the first quarter setting up the win, and extended that lead to 33 points at the main break.
Carey fought valiantly in the second half but the deficit was too great.
Neave Dickson was the star for the victors, booting six of Sacred Heart's nine goals on her way to winning the best-on-ground medal.
In the Senior Girls Division One Grand Final played on Wednesday, Melbourne Girls Grammar overcame defending champions Caulfield Grammar to win by 15 points.
