Herald Sun Shield Division 2 kicks off at Casey Fields

After an action-packed three weeks of Division 1 Herald Sun Shield Intermediate & Senior Boys and Girls action, the competition will return this Tuesday for the Division 2 games and Grand Finals.


First up will be the Intermediate Boys, with a round robin style match day on Tuesday August 20, at Casey Fields where five schools will compete for the 2024 Herald Sun Shield Division 2 Intermediate Boys Premiership. The schools competing are Bacchus Marsh Grammar, Luther College, Padua College, Salesian College Sunbury and St Ignatius College Geelong.


The Intermediate Boys teams will play four games (15 minute halves) with one bye each, before the top two face off in the Grand Final that afternoon, with the winning school to be crowned 2024 Herald Sun Shield Division 2 Intermediate Boys Premiers.


The following week, on Tuesday August 27, the Division 2 Intermediate Girls schools will face off in the same format, (15 minute halves) with six schools competing for the girls' title at Casey Fields. Schools involved will be Luther College, Yarra Valley Grammar, Bacchus Marsh Grammar, Padua College, Salesian College Sunbury, Our Lady of Mercy College.


The Senior Girls Division 2 has been split into two pools, with Pool A facing off on Tuesday September 3, and Pool B the next day on Wednesday September 4. The Division 2 Senior Girls Grand Final will take place the following Thursday, September 12, with the best team from each pool competing for the 2024 Herald Sun Shield Division 2 Premiership.


Division 2 Senior Girls teams:

Pool A - Ivanhoe Grammar School, John Paul College, Association of Co-educational Schools (ACS) representative (TBC), Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM) representative (TBC).

Pool B - Highview College, Catholic Regional College Sydenham, Our Lady of Sion College, South Eastern Independent Schools Association (SEISA) representative (TBC).


The Senior Boys Division Two will take place on Tuesday September 10, in the same format as the Intermediate Boys, with the Grand Final to be played that afternoon between the top two schools. Schools involved in the Senior Boys Division 2 are St Ignatius College Geelong, Donvale Christian College, Braemar College, Salesian College Sunbury, Newhaven College, ACS representative (TBC) and Christan Schools Events Network (CSEN) representative (TBC).


All Senior games will consist of two 15 minute halves.
