Where they came from: AFL Draft class of 2022

The 2022 NAB AFL Draft took place over the last two nights at Marvel Stadium.

59 players were selected in the 2022 NAB AFL Draft, with the GWS Giants selecting GWV Rebels forward Aaron Cadman with the first pick. Cadman began his journey in Bacchus Marsh, with Victorian community club, Darley Devils.  

Community football is the heartbeat of so many towns and communities across Victoria. It plays a huge part in developing the stars of the elite game and creates a pathway for Victorians to achieve success.

In this year’s NAB AFL Draft, the first eight picks selected grew up playing football for their respective Victorian Community Clubs. Out of the 59 players selected in the Draft, 36 are from Victorian community football clubs.
