Sockit2MND Round is back in 2020!

11 FEB 2020

The Sockit2MND Round is back again this year to raise awareness and much needed funds to continue the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.

Clubs across Victoria will have the opportunity to purchase the official Sockit2MND socks, with all proceeds going towards FighMND’s research efforts. The socks are only $15 a pair and are on sale from mid-February to March 25.

Clubs are encouraged to hold their own fundraiser, sell beanies and even hold a DIY Big Freeze during the Round which will be held from June 20-21.

Show your support for those within the local community who may be suffering with MND, or who know somebody who has MND by raising funds and awareness. It is a great community event that brings players, teams, clubs, leagues and communities together.

If you are interested in joining the fight for a cure, register your interest for the 2020 Sockit2MND Round HERE.

What is MND?

Motor Neurone Disease, or MND, is a terminal neurological disease which attacks the motor neurons within the body until they waste away and die. Motor neurons are required for muscle movement and without them, MND sufferers can no longer play their favourite sport, walk, talk, swallow and eventually breathe. Currently, there is no effective treatment and no cure.

Who is FightMND?

FightMND is the leading independent MND Foundation in Australia. The Foundation has a strong focus on raising funds to support the best and brightest MND research around Australia to ultimately find a cure. FightMND has been raising funds through events such as the Big Freeze, Daniher’s Drive and now through Sockit2MND in the hope that one day we can live in a world free of MND.
