Thirty-five football clubs from around Victoria will benefit from VicHealth’s Active Club Grants program which aims to make a significant contribution to the Victorian community by improving the health of less active Victorians.
The grants objective is to provide more opportunities for people to participate in sport, with a particular focus on people who otherwise would not get these opportunities.
The grants will provide social, flexible and accessible sport programs as well as opportunities for people from disadvantaged communities to take part in sport.
Following the successful This Girl Can – Victoria campaign, 61 sporting clubs are set to receive additional funding to help promote the campaign to their local communities, which will highlight the importance of providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for women and girls to get active.
In this round of VicHealth Active Club Grants, 35 football clubs have received more than $127,000 in Active Club Grants funded by VicHealth.
The next round for Active Club Grants is scheduled for 30 July 2019. More information is available on the Active Club Grant home page: https://www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/funding/active-club-grants
