VIC COUNTRY FINALISES BIG V SQUADS FOR 2019

AFL Victoria has announced its Energy Safe Victoria U/19 Victoria Country squad for the 2019 Energy Safe Victoria Under 19 Challenge Cup on Saturday, 8 June.

An extended squad of 25 players have been named for the Energy Safe U/19 Victoria Country squad ahead of their clash against VAFA, when they go head to head at Elsternwick Park Oval this weekend.

A total of nine leagues are represented in the Vic Country side, with Bendigo Football Netball League boasting the most selections, including emergencies, with a total of seven representatives, followed by the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League with five, and Geelong Football Netball League and Ovens and Murray Football League, with three selections each.

Robbie Waters will coach the Energy Safe U/19 Victoria Country squad, with three assistant coaches appointed; Ricky Andrews, Steve Brattle and Matt Bruhn.

The squad will be led by joint captains Lachie Noble from South Barwon FNC and Logan Prout from Leitchville Gunbower FNC.

The Energy Safe Under 19 Country side has recorded emphatic victories in the past, however were defeated by VAFA by 23 points at Mars Stadium in Ballarat last year.

The WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country senior squad will play on July 13.
