AFL Victoria is deeply saddened by the passing of one of community footballs most respected leaders.
Danny ‘Spud’ Frawley was a proud and passionate country boy hailing from Bungaree in the Central Highlands region of Victoria.
Frawley played an integral part in country football, coaching the AFL Victoria Country team for the past three years. He was all smiles after his side’s win in the recent 2019 Brian Molony Cup, adding another victory to his record books. He also dedicated time coaching in the VAFA Women’s competition for Old Haileybury.
Danny will be remembered as a man of incredible passion, one of the greatest players, an incredible leader and a friend to many.
He will be fondly remembered by all the staff and players who have been part of the representative teams during this time.
AFL Victoria extends its deepest sympathies to the Frawley family, his friends, colleagues and the greater football community.
