AFL Victoria is excited to announce the return of the WorkSafe Country Club Program for 2022 with six clubs from various locations in country Victoria set to benefit from a week of activations and experiences culminating in a traditional WorkSafe Country Club Game.

The first edition of the WorkSafe Country Club Games will take place this Sunday 24 April when Traralgon host Morwell at Morwell Recreation Reserve from 12:30pm in a special ANZAC Day match. As WorkSafe enter their 21st year of support for country football, the WorkSafe Country Club Program provides another opportunity to share the important message of workplace safety whilst also giving back to the football community by bringing AFL & Netball talent to the clubs, holding engaging activations and honouring the hard work of the clubs’ volunteers.

Each club will enjoy a week of activities provided by WorkSafe which include:

  • WorkSafe Mental Health Workshop presented by Sport and Life Training
  • Country Club Training Night with WorkSafe ambassador Tom Boyd joining training and enjoying traditional selection night activities at the club
  • Country Club Game, with WorkSafe activation and guest speakers from AFL, AFL Victoria and Netball landscapes adding to the colour of country football and netball.

Head of AFL Victoria, Ben Kavenagh said: “It’s fantastic to see the WorkSafe Country Club Games return for 2022, and we are very fortunate to have had the ongoing support of WorkSafe in Victorian country football."

“The WorkSafe Country Club program provides a great opportunity to spread the message of workplace safety to the vast football community, and importantly, it allows us to show our gratitude towards our clubs and their members for their hard work throughout the season."
