WorkSafe Club Safety Fund back in 2022
The WorkSafe Victoria Club Safety Fund has officially launched for 2022 returning to support local country clubs and communities after a difficult few years of pandemic affected football.
The WorkSafe Club Safety Fund has been established to provide financial assistance to football and netball clubs to make improvements to the safety of their grounds or provide added safety for both players, volunteers, and spectators.
This year sees the return of WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country Football, after another disrupted 2021 season. Over the past 21 years, WorkSafe has helped over 300 football clubs with funding and assistance and will continue to support local clubs through the WorkSafe Club Safety Fund.
Any football club affiliated with WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country that meets the 2022 program guidelines can apply for funding up to $5000 to support safety initiatives including, but not limited to:
- Equipment to be purchased by the Club that has the purpose of protecting the individual participants while actively engaged in the sport (i.e., goal post padding, first aid kids, defibrillators, slip resistant flooring).
- Permanent or portable structures that provide shelter and or safety. (i.e., behind goal netting, shelter shed, shade sails, fireplace guards, fencing for walkways).
- Minor facility maintenance which presents an occupational health and safety hazard.
The WorkSafe Club Safety Fund is now open and applications close on 13 May, 2022.
