Vale Bob Templeton OAM

19 JUL 2024 BY: AFL VICTORIA

AFL Victoria wishes to acknowledge the passing of Bob Templeton OAM, aged 96.

Bob retired as a director of the Victorian Country Football League in 2004 after almost 50 years of continuous service to football. A former president of Hamilton Football Club, the Western Border Football League and the VCFL, Bob devoted a large part of his life to the administration of the game he relished as a player.

Bob was deeply involved in the development of organisational structures that have contributed so much to the growth of the game, including the formation of the Western Border FL, the VCFL and Football Victoria. He was representative of the thousands of volunteers whose dedication in the face of a constantly changing environment has contributed to the success of the game at all levels. Bob also played 22 games for Footscray in the VFL from 1947 – 1953.

AFL Victoria extends its condolences to the family and friends of Bob.
