Traralgon Football and Netball Club have nominated Sylvia Wood for the WorkSafe Country Volunteer of the Year Award.

Sylvia serves as an integral part of Traralgon FNC having volunteered to take over as the club's canteen manager and coordinate Thursday night meals for the players. She is the mother of Gabe Wood who plays in the club's under 18s side and her husband Chris is the team's runner.

Sylvia is a tireless worker and her effort does not go unnoticed around the club. She does everything with a big smile on her face and never complains. She has done an outstanding job to maintain the operation of the canteen during trying circumstances navigating through COVID lockdowns and the recent flood affected season.

Due to the devastation of the floods, Traralgon have had to play games and operate their canteen at opposition grounds, and Sylvia has played a pivotal role in the coordination of the canteen management during this time.

Congratulations on your nomination, Sylvia.
