With 2024 community football seasons well underway, interleague footy has returned in both metropolitan and country regions.

Over the weekend, the Goulburn Valley Football League hosted the Ovens and Murray Football Netball League in an interleague clash rich in history. For the first time in 14 years, Goulburn Valley claimed the victory over country footy rival Ovens and Murray, taking home the Ash-Wilson Trophy with a 15-point win at Deakin Reserve in Shepparton. Mansfield’s Collingwood VFL-listed star Harry Mahoney was named best-on-ground in the victory, while Kyabram’s Anthony Depasquale booted a match-high three goals.
