The Victorian local club footy season concluded with two big Grand Final days on the AFL Grand Final eve public holiday, Friday 27 September, one at Elsternwick Park where the VAFA showcased their top tier decider and the other at GMHBA Stadium for the Geelong Football Netball League premiership showdown.

Big crowds were in attendance at both venues on a sunny spring Friday in what proved to be an exciting way to kick off a huge long weekend of football, with some of the best local footy on offer.

Congratulations to Old Scotch, who broke a 46-year drought to win the VAFA Premier Men's Grand Final, coming from third to defeat minor premier Old Brighton by 18 points. Down the highway, Leopold made it back-to-back GFNL premierships with a 21-point triumph over South Barwon in a rematch of the 2023 decider.
