Africa Day celebrations return this year, highlighting the amazing contribution the African community has made to the game of Australian football.
In celebration of Africa Month, the 2019 Africa Day celebration will be held on Friday, 10th May from 4:30 to 7:30pm at the North Melbourne Football Club.
The celebration will feature plenty of free activities for the family, an opportunity to play football with some of the best African AFL and VFL stars, free food and drinks, music and cultural performances.
Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the 1963 founding of the African Union which is celebrated in Africa and many countries around the world.
It provides an opportunity to acknowledge the achievements of the peoples and governments of Africa. Africa Day Australia was established in 2012 with the inaugural activities being held at the North Melbourne Community Centre.
