The first round of trials has taken place for the two Victorian teams at the National Inclusion Carnival. Almost 100 talented footballers from across the Victorian FIDA Football League took part in the day, which was run at the home of the Calder Cannons, RAMS Arena.
VIC METRO Head Coach Rob Klemm said it was great to see high numbers of players turning up to try out.
“I think the quality and skills on display were as a good as any year in the past. It was fantastic to be able to access such high standard facilities at RAMS Arena and the fact that VIC COUNTRY and VIC METRO were together on the same day made it even better,” he said.
WISE Employment have continued their sponsorship of the VIC METRO team, and will this year also be supporting VIC COUNTRY.
VIC COUNTRY Head Coach Steve Reeves said there were more players trial this year than ever before, and the standard has definitely increased.
“We hope the VIC COUNTRY team can improve on 3rd place last year.
“To have almost 50 players from across country Victoria come together is incredible and a huge credit to all of the parents, family, friends and carers who helped get the players here. We couldn’t be more grateful,” he said.
The following players have been invited to the second trial day on Sunday 19 May at RAMS Arena.
