As a part of VicHealth’s State Sport Program, AFL Victoria’s ‘I am a Healthy Choices Coach’ initiative aims to enable community coaches to lead their players and club communities towards healthy food and drink choices.

AFL Victoria and VicHealth have joined forces to provide education programs for community football coaches to recognise and encourage healthy food and drink choices for long term health – both on and off the field.

Sport, physical activity and nutrition go hand in hand, so community football clubs play a vital role in helping people lead healthy and active lives.

With 60% of adults and 25% of children and adolescents in Australia classed as overweight or obese, it has never been more important to make football clubs part of the solution.

Whether you are a coach, parent or on the committee of your club, AFL Victoria has a number of fact sheets and videos for you to use to drive the Healthy Choices message.
