PRIMARY

A number of competitions exist for girls in primary school football teams.

School Sport Victoria conducts both a mixed sex and an all female primary school competition, giving girls the choice of either playing alongside boys or girls.

AFL Victoria also conducts the Australia Post Multicultural Schools Cup across metropolitan Melbourne, introducing hundreds of primary school girls to the game.

SECONDARY

Secondary girls have many opportunities to play football.


School Sport Victoria’s competitions sees over 13,000 girls play annually across junior and senior competitions.


Girls Sport Victoria’s Friday Night Football competition is played over six weeks and is comprised of over twenty-two teams.


Various independent and Catholic school bodies conduct interschool football opportunities for girls. A Multicultural School Cup is also held in Victoria secondary schools.
