The Community Football Board was established due to the changes to AFL Victoria’s governance structure implemented in 2011, and recommendations made as part of the 2011 ‘Review of football in country Victoria’.
AFL Victoria recognised the need to develop an independent body to provide guidance, advice and support to senior management of AFL Victoria in relation to the continued development of community football within Victoria.
This Board will refer to the General Manager of AFL Victoria and will be a subcommittee of the current AFL Victoria Board. They will represent the interests of both metropolitan and country based community football.
The AFL Victoria Community Football Board (‘Board’) will represent the best interest of community football in Victoria and provide leadership and direction in relation to growth strategies and priorities for community football.
