Coburg Superules Football Club heading into its 27th year is seeking applications and expressions of interest for the role of Senior Over 35’s Coach (playing or non-playing) for season 2020.
The senior team currently plays in the AFLVM Over 35’s Premier Division with both the seniors and reserves being extremely competitive and featuring in finals over the last two seasons.
The Coburg Superules Football Club is an inclusive and diverse club that is home to 4 men’s teams and 1 women’s team and has a strong one club philosophy.
We are looking for a candidate that is an effective verbal communicator, has demonstrated organizational skills, has a good understanding of game day strategies and tactics and has a willingness to promote football for fun and one club philosophy of Coburg working with the Committee and Coaches.
Full job description is available on request and role would suit a coach, semi-retired player, retired player who doesn’t want heavy commitment. Training, selection and match day coaching form the main requirements of the role. Player/Coaches need to be turn 35 in 2019 to compete.
Commitment required is training once a week between April and September and play matches on a fortnightly basis over 10 rounds with the potential for finals. Preseason is November to March one evening a week. Approximately 3-6 hours per week over the term.
Coburg offers a supportive environment with the men’s and women’s coaches as well as VFL level facilities based out of Coburg City Oval which is about to undergo at $6M redevelopment.
Remuneration is associated with the role and can be discussed at time of interview.
It is desirable that the applicant has Level 1 AFL coaching accreditation or willingness to obtain one. The club is happy to fund a Level 1 accreditation for the successful applicant should this be required.
