What is the After School Auskick program?

Auskick After-School programs provide kids with the perfect platform to have fun with their friends while getting involved in a team oriented game. The program is modified to suit the abilities of the children participating, ensuring it is beneficial for all.

The focus is primarily on motor skill development, fun and enjoyment in a safe environment. In addition participants are introduced to the fundamental skills of AFL Football which includes bouncing, handballing, kicking, marking, evading and game play, while having a great time with their new friends.

Why should I choose NAB AFL After School Auskick?

Auskick can be confronting for children who attend community centres as it is a new environment. NAB AFL After School Auskick aims to provide a comfortable environment for children new to the game. It is also a convenient option for parents as children can participate directly after school hours with no extra effort required.

What happens during a session?

Kids will undergo a 6 week Auskick program focusing primarily on motor skill development, fun and enjoyment in a safe environment. In addition participants are introduced to the fundamental skills of AFL Football which includes bouncing, handballing, kicking, marking, evading and game play. The program is modified to suit the abilities of the children participating, ensuring it is beneficial for all.

An example of what you can expect at a typical Auskick session includes:

– Introduction

– Warm up games/activities

– Skills i.e. Kicking, marking, handballing, bouncing

– Grid/modified game

– Encouragement awards, drinks and departure

How do I go about registering and paying for my child/children?

All registrations need to be completed online via the national Auskick website- http://www.aflauskick.com.au/ . Search for the school name in the Centre locator. You will then need to select the after school centre and complete the online registration for your child/children.

When do enrolments open?

Enrolments will open approximately 2 weeks prior to the program start. Most Schools will hold a promotional assembly in the first week of the Program term to provide student with program flyers. If you are unsure when the program starts please contact the school or AFL Victoria on (03) 8341 6000.

I am having trouble registering online

To pay online please follow the steps below

  1. Go to the AFL Auskick website and click on “register”
  2. If you have already registered but wish to make payment, click the “Pay” button
  3. Enter your Auskick number and your password
  4. A green box with “Pay Now” should appear, click on this an follow the steps to complete your payment
  5. If problems persist please contact your state office.

I can’t select my school on the registration form

All schools should be on the list. Please ensure that the correct full name is entered including any apostrophes. If your school isn’t included on the list you will be able to select the “can’t find my school” option which will allow you to proceed.

Who delivers the sessions?

AFL Victoria Game Development Officers deliver the NAB AFL After School Programs. All AFL staff are Level 1 AFL Coaches, hold a current Working with Children Check WWC and are Senior Level 2 First Aid trained.

Pick up policies

NAB AFL After School centres vary in their program delivery, however parents will need to pick up children within 15 minutes of the completion of the session.

All session details will be available via the Auskick website.

Emergency procedures

AFL Victoria will follow the emergency procedures set by the school where the program will be delivered.
