The preferred facilities guide is a resource for football clubs to use when planning facility upgrades.
The updated AFL Preferred Facility Guidelines have been released.
As you may be aware the initial guidelines were developed in 2006 and has been well used by Councils, Government, Leagues and Clubs in the development and refurbishment of football facilities.
The format of the new document is essentially the same as the previous version, with the key changes including:
1. Area changes for certain facility components
2. Inclusion of the synthetic surface standards
3. Updating the lighting standards
The Guidelines are now on the AFL Community Club website at http://www.aflcommunityclub.com.au/index.php?id=890, and information regarding their availability was included in the most recent edition of the AFL Community Club newsletter. Please feel free to distribute the guidelines to your clubs as appropriate.
This document will be distributed to every Council in the State to ensure they are aware of the availability of this document to assist them in their planning for new and refurbished facilities.
