AFL Victoria has released the official rankings for the 2020 WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships following a successful 2019 competition on Saturday, May 18.
Thirty community football leagues have been assigned new nominal rankings following their participation in the 2019 WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships.
The WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships sees the best senior players from across the state go head-to-head in a one-off interleague match.
The Northern Football Netball League have secured the number-one ranking after defeating Geelong Football Netball League by 24 points.
This year featured the introduction of six senior women’s leagues competing in the 2019 WorkSafe AFL Victoria Community Championships.
This year also featured games being played between Leagues who have not played one another in recent history.
The 2020 Rankings list does not provide a likely schedule of matches for 2020, with leagues given the opportunity to opt-in or withdraw from the competition each season.
Final entries for participation in the 2020 season are not requested by AFL Victoria until the end of the year to allow leagues enough time to decide whether they wish to participate in the competition the following year.
