The Spotswood Football Club, affiliated with the Western Region Football League, is seeking applications for an Under 13 coach for season 2018.

To lead and mentor the technical and performance standards of your Players and team Support personnel to maximize on field efforts and meet the objectives of the SFC.

REPORTS TO:

  • Football Operations Co-ordinator (SFC Board – Executive Committee)

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Good working knowledge of the SFC Constitution, Charter, Policies and Procedures, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of the relevant AFL & WRFL Constitution, Policies and Procedures,
  • Excellent Football knowledge (both technical skills and tactical understanding)
  • Excellent organisational and personnel management skills (including conflict resolution).
  • Well developed negotiation and planning skills.
  • Well developed listening and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in providing governance for compliance to all applicable AFL and WRFL Rules and Regulation
  • Assist in the implementation and compliance of applicable SFC Policies and Procedures.
  • Co-ordinate and manage all your team activities as follows:
    • Develop good team morale and a collaborative, high performance environment,
    • Develop and implement training programs/sessions for the team and individual players as required,
    • Develop and implement appropriate team tactics and game plans as required,
    • Select the best team available for match-day (in accordance with nominated selection criteria),
    • Instruct team members in relevant football skills, tactics and game plans,
    • Implement the relevant game day tactics and plans (and modify where required),
    • Co-ordinate your team Support personnel inputs and roles as required,
    • Maintain an understanding of injury prevention, player welfare and player management,
    • Provide clear instruction and feedback to the team, individual Players and Support personnel,
    • Initiate, develop and implement opportunities for improvement,
    • Assist in the attraction, recruitment and retention of Players, Sponsors and Support personnel,
    • Represent the club at official functions and community activities (as required),

TRAINING/CERTIFICATION  REQUIREMENTS:

Level 1 or 2 AFL Coach Accreditation
