AFL Victoria with the support of the AFL offers a wide range of services and development programs across the football spectrum. A summary of AFL Victoria’s Development Department program segments are outlined below.
AFL Auskick – an introductory football program for children from 5 to 12 years of age underpinned by a strong culture of parent participation.
Coaching – a range of coaching programs are offered from beginner to more advanced coaches, backed up by the Victorian branch of the Australian Football Coaches Association.
Community Football – outlines the programs and support services available for league and club administrators and volunteers.
Indigenous Program – promotes participation in football, as well as creating awareness around life-skill development.
Multicultural Program - outlines the programs and support services available for members of our community that have not presiously had exposure to Australian Rules Football.
Female Football – outlines the range of opportunities that are available for young girls and women to be involved at community and school level.
AFL Player Appearances – explains how AFL clubs and players are involved in supporting grass roots football.
Primary Schools – contains information on football activities and resources to promote football both in the classroom and on school playgrounds.
Secondary Schools – under the umbrella of the “G Footy” program, match programs, coach education and curriculum resources available are explained.
Recreational Football – especially designed for football enthusiasts seeking to participate in a safe, non-contact and social physical activity.
