ABOUT THE ROLE                                                                                                             

The Football Administration & Operations Coordinator at the Calder Cannons within AFL Victoria and is primarily responsible for and aims to support the Talent Manager deliver a successful talent program in the region.

Specifically, the Football Administration & Operations Coordinator’s key responsibilities includes a wide variety of tasks to general office duties, website and social media, squad coordination, assistance with functions and other football operational activities. The position is also responsible for the first contact point during office hours for the Calder Cannons for all enquiries and age groups.

 

Please note employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory criminal history record check. The successful candidate is required to possess a valid ‘working with children’ check. The AFL has extensive procedures and checks in place to protect children and young people in our organisation.

 

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF

  • Provide administrative support to the Talent Manager and Coach along with the coordination of football operations within the Region’s Talent Programs the TAC Cup.
  • Maintain staff database and prepare contact listings
  • Prepare various documents e.g. player notices, letters, agendas, general club correspondence, sponsor flyers and marketing
  • Maintain and update player database (Access) for all Calder Cannons past and current squads and prepare squad lists
  • Prepare Champion Data vision for Coaches and players alike.
  • Update and maintain various football documents e.g. training attendances, fitness results, games played
  • Provide assistance in the development of the events calendar
  • Assist in the plan and implementation all club functions and propose new club events
  • Facility Management, including venue management and function management.
  • Delivery of educational programs

  • Experience in a similar role would be advantageous
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours
  • A proactive mindset with good decision making skills
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Developed IT skills particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media

 

Please Note – this is a 12 month maxed term contract position
