Funding grants become active at various times throughout the year. Guidelines then become available as each opportunity is declared open.
Australian Sports Commission
The ASC supports a wide range of programs designed to develop sporting excellence and increase participation and achievement by all Australians.
Key Existing Grants
The Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) Canteen Grant program supports clubs to be more energy safe in their operations and increase awareness of energy safety issues at the community level. The program is made possible through a partnership with AFL Victoria. It promotes both energy safety awareness and the growth of community football.

The WorkSafe Club Safety Fund has been established to provide financial assistance to football/netball clubs to improve or provide added safety for both players, people involved with the club and the spectators. Round 2 of the 2018 WorkSafe Club Safety Fund will open from Friday 6 April.
The Community Sports Infrastructure Funding Program helps provide high quality, accessible community sport and recreation facilities across Victoria.
The Country Football and Netball Program provides funding to assist country football and netball clubs, associations and umpiring organisations to develop facilities in rural, regional and outer metropolitan locations including: change room facilities for players and umpires of both genders; development or upgrading football playing fields; development or upgrading of netball facilities; development or upgrading of lighting facilities. The AFL, AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria provide funding towards this program to compliment the current $8 million investment by the Victorian Government.

The 2015-16 Victorian Budget provided $2.7 million to deliver the life-saving devices. A grants program encouraging clubs to apply will open in the new financial year.
Applicants can register projects to collect donations using the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) tax deductible status and receive consideration for discretionary grants from the ASF.
AFL Victoria Facilities Development Reserve
This funding used to support projects, primarily in Metropolitan Melbourne, that are not eligible for Country Football Netball Program Funding and have strong alignment with AFL Victoria’s Football Facilities Development Strategy.
