The 2018 Metro Junior Championships continues into the Queen’s Birthday long weekend with games to be played across sixteen community football venues on Saturday June 9 and Monday June 11.
Following the opening Round of round-robin games last month, hundreds of Melbourne’s best junior players will once again lace up the boots and prepare to go head-to-head in Rounds 2 and 3 this weekend.
Seven metropolitan leagues have representative teams participating this season, including sides from the Eastern Football League (EFL), Essendon District Football League (EDFL), Northern Football Netball League (NFNL), Riddell District Football Netball League (RDFNL), South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL), Western Region Football League (WRFL) and Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL) along with teams from AFL Yarra Ranges.
The five-week-long Championship series brings together the top junior metropolitan players in the Under 14, Under 15 and Under 15 Girls age groups.
Following this weekend’s results, the top two teams in Division 1 Pool A and Pool B playing off in Grand Finals.
The Under 15 Division 1A, Under 15 Division 1B and Under 15 Girls Grand Finals will be played on Saturday June 23 while the Under 14 Division 1A and Under 14 Division 1B will be held on Saturday June 30.
Admission to the 2018 AFL Victoria Metro Junior Championships is FREE at all venues.
